Having a job is more than just a way to earn a living. Our jobs often shape our identity and our sense of purpose while also contributing to our overall well-being. However, many people with disabilities face major barriers to finding and maintaining employment on the open labour market. These barriers range from stigma and discrimination to the lack of education and vocational training that meet the needs of people with disabilities.
EASPD and THE NET’s International Conference in Athens will focus on how disability support service providers, businesses and policymakers can work together to create more opportunities for people with disabilities on the open labour market.
The conference will:
- Identify different support models proven to create opportunities for persons with disabilities on the open labour market.
- Showcase practical methods available to support persons with disabilities to access inclusive employment opportunities.
- Inspire businesses with strategies that create a more inclusive working environment.
- Exchange on legal frameworks that increase inclusive open labour market opportunities.
EASPD and THE NET invite you to join us for our International Conference: 'Opening Doors: how can disability support services unlock the open labour market?'. Hosted in Athens, Greece on 17-18 October 2024, our upcoming conference seeks to focus on bringing together and sharing practical methodologies, tools and legislation that can help to create more choices and options for persons with disabilities on the open labour market.
In addition to the conference, EASPD members can also attend the Member Forum meetings (on the 16-17-18 October) and the General Assembly (19 October).
